Author Guidelines

Who may submit

Submissions are welcome from ACLAS students, faculty, and alumni worldwide, as well as from external researchers and practitioners. There are no fees to submit or publish.

Article types

• Research Articles — original empirical or theoretical research (4,000–8,000 words)
• Review Articles — critical syntheses of published literature (5,000–10,000 words)
• Case Studies & Practitioner Reports — applied and professional analyses (2,500–6,000 words)
• Essays & Opinion — well-argued scholarly commentary (2,000–4,000 words)
• Book & Media Reviews — reviews of academic books and media (800–2,000 words)

Manuscript preparation

• Manuscripts must be in English, submitted as Microsoft Word or PDF.
• Follow APA 7th edition style for citations and references.
• Include an abstract of 150–250 words and 4–6 keywords.
• Number all figures and tables and include captions.

ORCID requirement

All submitting authors must register with, and authenticate, an ORCID iD during submission. This guarantees correct author attribution across the global research ecosystem.

Originality and ethics

Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism. Authors must disclose any use of generative AI tools in accordance with our Generative AI Usage Policy. The journal follows the COPE guidelines; see our Publication Ethics statement.

Licensing

Articles are published open access under a CC BY-SA 4.0 license; authors retain copyright.

How to submit

Register for an author account and click Make a Submission. You will be guided through a five-step submission wizard. Submissions are reviewed by the editorial team, and suitable manuscripts proceed to double-anonymous peer review.
