Peer Review Policy

The ACLAS Journal operates a double-anonymous peer review process: the identities of both reviewers and authors are concealed throughout the review.

Process

  1. An editor screens every submission for scope, quality, and plagiarism.
  2. Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
  3. Reviewers assess originality, methodology, clarity, and contribution.
  4. The editor makes one of the following decisions: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.

Timeline

Authors can normally expect an initial editorial decision within 2 weeks and a review-based decision within 4-8 weeks of submission.

Appeals

Authors who believe a decision was affected by a substantive error may appeal in writing to the editorial office, which will review the appeal with an editor who was not involved in the original decision.
